creative research

“I explore narratives through cross-disciplinary languages with a focus on integrating new technology. My work in the arts comes from multicultural practice, shaped by my experience of living in diverse countries.” — PV

This creative research brings the spirit of hybrid projects that blend storytelling and education, using technology as a bridge between cultures and disciplines. Grounded in collaboration, this work invites diverse voices to co-create narratives that rethink how we learn, connect, and communicate across platforms.

Our life is half natural and half technological. We must have a strong human element to keep modesty and natural life.”

Nam June Paik

“Exploring new narratives is to question the inherited structures of storytelling. It opens an experiment in perception, shaped by a deep curiosity about the world and interest for reinvention. It requires the courage to step into the unknown, to embrace risks, and to let intuition guide the creative process.

The dialogue between disciplines fosters innovation. Each medium —film, visual theater, writing, visual art— offers a unique lens through which to interrogate reality and reimagine possibility. Filmmaking captures time, memory, and movement; visual theater transforms space into a living, breathing narrative; writing distills thought and emotion into form; and visual art evokes the unspeakable through images and symbols. In each one, there is a profound interplay between the tangible and the ineffable, the personal and the universal.

What if a film could unfold like a dream, untethered from linear time? What if a stage could dissolve its fourth wall, inviting the audience into the performance as co-creators? What if language itself could fracture and recombine, opening new poetic dimensions? What if visual art could reveal wthat words fail to articulate?

Techniques from cinema influence stage compositions; poetic structures inspire visual rhythms; sculptural forms suggest filmic movement. The blend of ideas ignites modes of expression, expanding the possibilities of storytelling —new meanings transform both creator and audience. A journey that is also about forging connections, sparking conversations, and challenging perceptions.” — PV

INTERDISCIPLINARY I “My background integrates multiple disciplines, with a particular focus on filmmaking, visual theater, writing, and visual art —seeking new ways of storytelling through the lens of contemporary art. Cross-disciplinary work is truly exciting —combining the technical language of film with the live nature of performance, or searching words that look and images that speak.

MULTICULTURAL  Living and studying across global cities have shaped my work. I spent over ten years in New York, where I immersed myself in its diverse cultural landscape that was essential in shaping my worldview. Later, I lived in Mexico City for five years, inspired by its cultural heritage and dynamic energy. Nearly two years in the UK helped me to engage with a more European context.

INNOVATION I With a focus on forward-thinking artwork, international collaboration, and higher education in emerging markets, I’ve fostered creativity, exchange, and transformation. Making Artwork based in experimentation to invite new dialogues. Building Global Connections including sustainable networks within the international arts community. Developing University Programs in the evolving context of the creative industries to navigate the intersection of arts, technology, and global collaboration.

TECHNOLOGY I I look at how emerging tools can merge seeking ways to incorporate innovation into my work across multimedia art, transmedia storytelling, and immersive experiences. The interconnected universe of contents is intriguing to me; AI presents a compelling opportunity to extend creative processes; and XR technologies —virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR)— is reshaping the nature of interactive experiences.

From a film festival in Mexico that nurtures new voices, to a European project that connects artists across borders, there is a growing wave of creative research. My exploration of hybrid work in the arts comes from a perspective that, in today’s world, feels almost universal —it’s the way we all live now.“ — Pedro Valiente

We can travel anywhere we want, even to other planets.

AI has turned into a major force as technology is changing the nature of creative process. AI art refers to artwork including procedural 'rule-based' generation of images using mathematical patterns, and algorithms that simulate digital effects.

Metaverse blends digital and physical worlds. “Replace ‘metaverse’ with ‘cyberspace.’ The meaning won't substantially change 90% of the time. It doesn't really refer to any specific technology, but rather a broad shift in how we interact with it.” [Wired]
